Tarte Lipstick Review

If you have been reading my posts for a while you will know that my Nanna loves QVC. She is always buying really great branded products and I go into her bathroom and my mouth drops. Some of the products I have wanted for such a long time and my 71 year old Nanna has it instead. On Christmas Day, as a family we went out for a meal and before we left she gave my mum and I a lipstick each from this 'Tarte' set. The colours of the lipsticks look completely different on the lips as they are a lot more natural and glossy. They feel very moisterising and smell like Peppermint which gives your lips a little bit of a tingling sensation. I also really like the naming of the lipsticks and the packaging is lovely and girly. I feel that the brand have really thought about every little detail and made it a lovely product to use.

Have you ever tried Tarte? What are your favourite products?

Soap and Glory Gift Set

Another gift set I received for Christmas was the 'Soap and Glory' pouch with four products inside. Unfortunately, when I unwrapped the gift, the little spray perfume had shattered everywhere but it did make my makeup bag smell amazing. I have many posts about 'Soap and Glory' as I love the brand so much. Everything I have used so far has not let me down.

I have tried out all three of these products since receiving them and I have to say even the lip gloss smells like you want to eat it. Makes the lips look lusicious and glossy and smells like cocoa butter. The highlighting blush gives a lovely glow to the cheeks without looking glittery or too shimmery. (makeup look coming soon!) As for the nail varnish, I have loved layering this on top of the Lancome pink varnish to give a bit of shimmer to the nails. Overall I think this gift set is lovely and perfect for a young girl and even adults.

Have you ever tried any of these products? What do you think?

Film Friday: JOY

I love films. I love going to the cinema. And I love Jennifer Lawrence.

Ever since 'The Hunger Games' , I have been watching many films with JLaw in and I think she is such an incredible actress. The film 'Joy' is based on a true story about Joy Mangano who created the 'magical mop' and became a self made millionaire with the help from the Shopping channel QVC. This is a really inspiring film as it shows the real struggles that people go through to be successful. Joy's life seemed very hard, coping with money problems, a hectic family life and trying to focus on her dream but she carried on and finally got the recognition she wanted. She fought hard for everything she has today and the film really made me feel motivated and want to do more!

Have you watched this film? Did you like it?

Philip Kingsley Trichotherapy

A while ago I wrote a post about a pesty habit I got into years ago that I have never stopped doing. (click here to read.) And it really upsets me that I keep doing it, so much that it has even made my family upset to. I have been pulling my hair for quite a while now, and even though I think it is a disgusting habit, I can't stop. My Nanna always shouts and slaps my hand when she sees me doing it and even bought me this product from QVC to try and help as it had the word 'Tricho' in it.

I have been using lots of different products to try and make it smoother as the more silky feeling the hair is, I tend to not pull. This spray from Philip Kingsley is a volumising protein spray to help with fine/thinning hair but also smoothes and maintains frizz. I haven't been using this product for long but I have really been enjoying using this product as my hair is a lot easier to style after using.

Have you ever tried any of these products? Do you or anyone you know have Trichotillomania, What do you/they do to help?

'Never Stop Exploring'

In all honesty, I never used to like 'The North face' jackets. I didn't feel the need to ever wear one and was never interested in the brand whatsoever. Until now. At the end of December, I thought what I wanted to change in the New Year, 'New Years resolutions' If you must.  I decided I wanted to go on more adventures, walk more, exercise more. (which probably everyone says) so I needed to be fully equipped for the cold, wet weather. I had already walked Mount Snowdon last year and really wanted to do more exciting things in 2016.

I have fell in love with this jacket and shocked on how much I wear it, as it's most days. Super comfy to wear, quite unusual colours but I find it quite quirky and very lightweight. You can wear this jacket as an inner layer and have a big coat on top or wear it as it is. I have been wearing it as a casual jacket popping to the shops, etc, But I would love to get the bigger coat as well so I can be really cosy when walking.

Have you got any North Face clothing? What do you think?

No7 Gift Set Review

Another gift set I got for Christmas was the 'No7' makeup kit. This came with a little mascara, cream blush and eyeshadow. My mum has one of these as well and she loves it as she really struggles with makeup. (I try to help her out as much as possible with my ever growing collection.) I love using these products for everyday, glowy, dewy look when you don't want to wear much makeup or are in a rush. I have never had a Cream blush stick before so it was great to try something new. It glides on the face nicely and blends nicely. However with the eyeshadow I don't think it is pigmented enough, and you have to apply quite a lot for it to show on the eyes. The mascara brush seems quite dry but gives a lovely natural look but wouldn't say it gives a 'dramatic lift' but then again I am quite picky when it comes to mascaras.

What do you think of No7's products?

'You Smell Great!'

Selfridges, Birmingham took a lot of my money just after Christmas but it felt so good. I have wanted to buy a 'Jo Malone' perfume for as long as I can remember and it was so hard to choose which one I wanted to buy as I wanted them all. In the end I chose 'Wood sage and Sea Salt' for an everyday, fresh scent. Already I have used quite a bit and the cost of the cologne didn't even cross my mind as they smell wonderful. I have been walking past people and always get told 'You smell lovely' and a burst of happiness explodes inside of me. Money well spent! I think my next one will be 'Pomegranate Noir' as I have been told that is the best selling, more long lasting scent.

Do you have a Jo Malone cologne? What is your favourite?
